Amit Shah Slams Chidambaram for ‘Shielding’ Pakistan in Pahalgam Attack
Published on:

Home Minister Amit Shah, addressing the Lok Sabha, accused former Home Minister P. Chidambaram of offering a “clean chit” to Pakistan regarding the Pahalgam terror attack. Shah claimed that such remarks undermine India's anti-terror efforts, including targeted operations against Pakistan-based terror infrastructure. He said the terrorists involved were proven to be Pakistani nationals, with voter IDs and even Pakistani-made chocolates as evidence. Shah criticized Chidambaram for questioning the origin of the terrorists and suggested that such comments were shielding Pakistan. Chidambaram had earlier stated there was no clear evidence that the attackers were from Pakistan, prompting Shah to call his remarks a global embarrassment and a political misstep. Shah also warned that the Indian public is watching and that Congress cannot escape accountability on this issue.
