New BJP president Amit Shah on Thursday asked party MPs to remain connected with voters to ensure success of the party in the forthcoming Assembly elections in four States and bypolls in some other States.
“The new BJP chief stressed on having “Sampark, Samvaad and Samanvay” (communication, dialogue and coordination) between the party MPs and the public and asked all party members to work at the booth-level,” said BJP vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi after the meeting.
Shah also advised the MPs to set up offices as well as coordination committees for effective utilisation of MPlADS funds in their respective constituencies.
Addressing party MPs for the first time in the Central Hall of Parliament after his elevation as party chief, Shah cautioned them against disconnect with voters and take the upcoming Assembly elections and bypolls seriously and ensure the party’s victory.

MPs from those States which are not poll-bound will also be deployed for party work in the poll-bound States. The issue of the current UPSC row was also raised at the meeting with Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh, telling the MPs that the Prime Minister himself is taking the issue seriously and it be will be resolved soon.
Shah told the MPs that the public had entrusted a big responsibility on the shoulders of the party leaders and they have to come up to their expectations, Naqvi told reporters. He asked the MPs to actively participate in the parliamentary process and come prepared during debates in both the Houses keeping in view the responsibility entrusted on them by the people.
The BJP chief also asked them to spend more time in their constituencies and help in early redressal of public grievances. Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu asked the MPs to concentrate on their attendance in Parliament and actively participate in the debates.
Naidu informed the members that various parliamentary committees have been unanimously elected. He said the Government would be bringing the Insurance Bill and the SEBI Bill in Parliament soon for their passage.
