The State Assembly is likely to witness noisy scenes again on Monday over the issues of cane price and law and order situation in the State while the Akhilesh Government will table the second supplementary Budget for the current fiscal after the Question Hour.

A senior Assembly official said here that the Chief Minister will lay the second supplementary Budget of his Government at 12.20 pm after the Question Hour. “The Business advisory committee has approved that the Chief Minister would table the grants on Monday and discussions on it will take place the next day,” the official said.

The UP Government is expected to seek an additional budgetary grant of around Rs2,000 crore for the ongoing schemes and for some new welfare schemes like Samajwadi Pension Yojana. Government is also expected to seek funds for the Agra-lucknow expressway whose foundation stone would be laid on November 23.

However, the Opposition members are slated to continue their protest over the law and order situation in the State, cane price and other issues for the second day and likely to disrupt the question hour.

BJP legislature party leader Suresh Kumar Khanna said that his party will continue to raise people’s demand inside the House. “The Government has only one agenda in mind that is pass supplementary grants. Our agenda is to raise farmers’ demand. We questioned Government as why farmers’ cane price was not raised but the Government did not answer our questions,” he said.

He said his party will raise these issues as per the law and will force the Government to give answers. On the opening day of the winter session of the UP Assembly on Friday last, the  Opposition created pandemonium leading to adjournment of the House.

As per the schedule of the State Assembly, the supplementary Budget is likely to be passed by the House on November 19 and the Assembly will be adjourned sine die on November 21.
