Akhilesh gave free publicity to elephants: Maya

Published on:

BSP chief Mayawati, within hours of the release of the election manifesto attacked the Samajwadi Party saying it was a mere formality and “publicity stunt’’. Mayawati, however, appreciated the Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for criticising the statues of the elephant saying “Akhilesh gave free publicity to the elephant’’, the election symbol of the BSP.

Ridiculing the claim of the Samajwadi Party that kaam bolta hai (the work speaks for itself) Mayawati said, “during the last five years of the SP Government headed by a tainted leader only apradh (crime) bolta hai.

“SP during its five year rule had made a mockery of its previous manifesto by promoting the anarchy, jungle raj, criminal and communal elements so they had no moral right to issue yet another manifesto’’, said Mayawati here on Sunday adding “it’s unfortunate and daring attempt by the SP to deceive the people’’.

“Before releasing the manifesto, SP should have done some introspection to ascertain whether it fulfilled the earlier promises’’, said Mayawati in a statement.
