The day BJP legislator Suresh Rana was arrested for his involvement in Muzaffarnagar riots, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said action would be taken against people, including political leaders for their role in the riots.
While speaking in Vidhan Sabha on Friday Chief Minister retracted his anti-BJP remarks and requested Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey to expunge them.
BJP legislature Party leader Hukum Singh had pointed out that Yadav during the course of his reply on Wednesday to the debate on the Muzaffarnagar riots had said BJP leaders are speaking lies (BJP neta jhoot bol rahe hai).
The word jhoot (lie) is un-parliamentary, Hukum Singh said. Chief Minister said: “I may withdraw the particular word but it is certain that action against the people who are guilty for the riots would be taken to task.”
The statement signaled that BJP MlAs Sangeet Singh Som and Bhartendu Singh and 14 other leaders, against whom a Muzaffarnagar court had issued non-bailable warrants for allegedly instigating the rioters, would be arrested after the conclusion of the Monsoon Session of the State legislature.
