Akhilesh exhorts educated youth to join politics

Stressing on the importance of education, Uttar Padesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that a country can progress only if its youth are educated as they have the potential to kindle the light of knowledge across India.

“Get good education and then use this education for the welfare of people. The time has come for the educated youth to join politics. An educated man can lead the country to the path of progress and prosperity,” Yadav said after inaugurating Rafiq-ul-mulk Mulayam Singh Yadav Urdu IAS study Centre here on Monday.

This centre will impart training for civil services to those students who wish to write their papers in Urdu.

The CM asked the students to prepare themselves for tough competition. “I am fortunate that a top study centre like this has been named after Netaji (Mulayam Singh Yadav) and I had the opportunity to inaugurate it,” he said.

“You have to prepare extensively for tough exam like civil services. There is so much of competition. As the Samajwadi Party believes in holistic development of the society this centre will set a new example,” Akhilesh said,

The CM said that his Government has done a lot for the youth and asked them to support the SP Government and its policies so that Uttar Pradesh can be taken to the path of development.

On the occasion, Yadav did not forget to laud State Urban Development Minister Mohammad Azam Khan for his contribution in the field of education for setting up an university in Rampur. “Khan’s effort to promote education in Rampur would certainly give a huge boost to the development of that area,” he said.

However, Yadav was very critical on the role of the Opposition in UP, alleging that it is opposing Government decisions meant for the development of the poor and downtrodden just for the sake of opposition.

“When I said that one crore people have got treatment in Government hospitals due to better facilities, the Opposition alleges that the number of patients in the State has gone up in the SP rule,” he said.

The CM appreciated Urdu Academy for constructing the building of the Urdu IAS Study Centre in a record time and announced that more funds would be sanctioned to construct similar centres in other parts of the State.

Earlier, Azam Khan also addressed the gathering saying that there was a big conspiracy to incite communal violence merely to win some votes. “The Samajwadi Party had previously taken a tough stand against these forces and will do the same in future too,” he said.

The first minority education centre Rafiq-ul-mulk Mulayam Singh Yadav IAS study centre has been constructed with a cost of Rs150 crore where the selected candidate would be given free coaching besides free hostels, fooding and lodging. The centre also has a modern library for students.
