In a visible thaw in the Yadav family, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and his wife and party’s Mainpuri candidate Dimple Yadav on Thursday met Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohia) president Shivpal Singh Yadav ahead of the Mainpuri bypoll.
The couple met Shivpal Yadav, who is the younger brother of Samajwadi Party founder late Mulayam Singh Yadav and uncle of Akhilesh Yadav, in Saifai to discuss the by-election. Sources claim that the meeting continued for over an hour and it was later joined by Shivpal Yadav’s son Aditya Yadav.
The Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat fell vacant on October 10 after the demise of Mulayam Singh Yadav and Dimple Yadav was named SP candidate and she is expected to carry the legacy of her father-in-law in the constituency.
Taking to Twitter, Akhilesh tweeted, “Along with the leader and the elders of the house, the blessings of the people of Mainpuri are also with you!”
Akhilesh Yadav also tweeted his picture with Dimple, Shivpal and his son Aditya Yadav.Uncle Shivpal Yadav also wrote in his twitter account: “Jis bagh ko khud sincha hai Netaji ne, us bagh ko hum sinchege apne khoon se.”
BJP leader Sidharth Nath Singh said that Akhilesh remembered his uncle due to the fear of defeat.
