The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth (RAV), Ministry of AYUSH, during KAUMARACON 2026 at AIIA, New Delhi.
The agreement recognises the Department of Kaumarbhritya at AIIA Delhi and Goa as a Centre of Excellence for RAV.
The recognition covers the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training in Kaumarbhritya (Ayurveda paediatrics), along with intellectual property rights and capacity building in policy research. The partnership also envisages research and training in Swarnaprashan and allied areas of Balroga.
A central objective of the MoU is to develop an SOP for swarna prashan sanskar through joint expert consultations at AIIA Goa and New Delhi. This work will address formulation standardisation, preparation, administration and dosage appropriate to the age and strength of the child, with attention to quality control, safety, documentation, monitoring and awareness among parents and caregivers.
AIIA Goa has established PRAYAS, an integrated paediatric neurorehabilitation centre offering a distinctive multidisciplinary model of care.
The centre combines a specialised paediatric Panchakarma unit with the expertise of Ayurveda paediatricians, a modern paediatrician, an occupational therapist, a speech therapist, a physiotherapist, Yoga professionals and an Ayurveda diet expert from Swasthavritta which will work with RAV for further training and capacity building.
An international MoU was also signed between AIIA Goa and Maharishi International University (MIU), Fairfield, Iowa, USA, for the establishment of an Academic Chair in Ayurveda in MIU’s Department of Physiology and Health. The agreement provides for academic and research activities, curriculum development, short- and medium-term courses, and workshops, seminars and conferences on Ayurveda.
