The Delhi Police Crime Branch has summoned Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) leaders Saurav Das, Ashutosh Ranka and Ajinkya Shinde to join its investigation into the alleged trespass at Jantar Mantar, police sources said on Thursday.

Das and Ranka were issued notices to appear before investigators a day after they were released from Tihar Jail. Shinde has also been summoned in connection with the case.

The investigation concerns allegations that CJP members entered the Jantar Mantar area through private premises despite restrictions on protests at the site. Police have alleged that the group crossed into the area on October 13 and attempted to unfurl the national flag.

Police sent Das and Ranka to judicial custody on October 14, and they remained in jail for seven days. They were released on Wednesday after furnishing the required bonds and giving an undertaking not to call for protests at Jantar Mantar while it remains a denotified protest site.

Delhi Police has transferred two cases linked to the incident to the Crime Branch for investigation. The cases include allegations of disobeying official orders and trespassing.

The allegations remain under investigation. The summons require the leaders to participate in the probe and do not, by themselves, establish guilt.
