In the wake of the massacre in Chhattisgarh, the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday issued an advisory to all the nine Naxal-affected states, including Jharkhand, asking them to revamp the security given to political workers and leaders and also to ensure that their activities are not affected. A senior official in the Government confirmed this.

Meanwhile, Pradesh Congress Committee president Sukhdeo Bhagat today met Governor Syed Ahmed and gave him a memorandum about the security situation in the State and requested him to review it so as to make it more effective.

Earlier, taking to newsmen, Sukhdeo Bhagat said "even our block and district party presidents have been killed in Jharkhand and have been under consistent threat. But, we believe in democracy and will work in the interest of the people."
