Adig who loves to fight polls non-stop

Some persons contest elections to win, others just to corner the limelight. Many join the fray for fulfilling political ambition but only a few for just contesting the polls. One of such candidates is Narendra Nath Dubey ‘Adig’, an advocate by profession, is contesting elections from two constituencies including City South and City North in Varanasi as Bhartiya Kalyan Party (BKP) candidate.

As his nickname ‘Adig’ depicts, the defeats could not demoralise his spirit of contesting elections. He had contested over 40 elections right from corporator in municipal corporation to the President of India.

Since 1984, he had seen in almost all the Parliamentary and Assembly elections, moving locality after locality on motorcycle or walking on foot. “I’d filed papers for contesting many elections for the post of President of India,” he said. It may be mentioned that in absence of required number of proposals, his candidatures were rejected.

While some of his supporters said that he is contesting all elections so that his name is included in Guinness Book of Records when the same asked from him, his reply was different.

“My life is itself a book then why I would fight for getting my name included in Guinness Book. Actually, I’m fighting the election to win because I wanted to address basic problems of human beings,” Adig said.
