'Achchhe din' PR will take a beating: RaGa

After a Nobel laureate warned India of mass unemployment, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Monday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the issue saying his “achchhe din” PR would take a beating.

On the other hand, party targeted the Centre alleging its involvement in the recent Staff Selection Commission (SSC) paper leak likening it to the multi-crore Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh.  The party said the BJP is now spreading patented “Vypam Virus” across India.

“The Nobel prize winning economist Paul Krugman confirms what we’ve been saying for over two years now. Mass unemployment is the biggest threat India faces. Unfort-unately, we have a PM who lives in denial. Afraid his ‘achchhe din’ PR will take a beating,” he said on Twitter.

Rahul also used a media report quoting Krugman’s warning that the India story could end with mass unemployment. The Congress chief has been attacking the Modi Government over its “failure” to provide two crore jobs every year as promised by Modi, and has alleged that it has instead taken away a lot of jobs due to its decision of demonetisation and “ill-conceived” implementation of the GST.

Upping the ante to corner the Government on SSC matter in which Rahul too has expressed his solidarity by participating in a dharna protest by the victims, AICC chief spokesman Randeep Singh Surjewala said SSC has become “Students Suffer Corruption”. Congress demanded that it’s high time the SSC Chairman should be sacked now.

“Post the ‘Vyapam Scam’, ‘SSC Scam’ has marred the future of India’s youth under Modi Government’s watch. Instead of giving two crore jobs per year, career of two crore youth, who apply every year to SSC for around 50,000 vacancies has been jeopardised. Typical of Modi Government of brushing every such issue under the carpet, students demanding justice are hounded, beaten up and evacuated with an arrogant Government refusing to order a thorough investigation into the corrupt practices in the examination process,” Surjewala said.
