A Kolkata court on Sunday remanded key Khagragarh blast accused Abdul Wahab Momin to 10 days' National Investigation Agency custody after the prosecution lawyer pleaded that the investigators had enough evidence to show that Momin was a key terror mastermind and was present at the site of the blast when it accidentally happened on October 2 last year.
The NIA lawyer said that Momin was a key member of the Bangladesh terror group Jamat ul Mujahideen Bangladesh and had been active in the border districts of Bengal recruiting jehadis and giving arms training to them.
"As a member of the JMB he was involved in recruiting terror moles from some madarsas and even gave them arms training" the lawyer said. Momin was arrested from near Sealdah station area by the NIA on Saturday. He was on the run since October 2 blast.
His was the 18th arrest made by the NIA in connection with the case. Most of the arrested persons were Bangladeshi nationals and were active in districts of Murshidabad, Malda, Birbhum, Burdwan, North and South 24 Parganas apart from areas in Assam, sources said.
