After its failed attempt last year and repeated allegations of sidelining women from major party decision-making, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is finally set to launch its women's wing. The move comes at a time when the fledgling party is struggling for a female face after Shazia Ilmi resigned from all party positions.
"On the first death anniversary of martyr Santosh Koli on August 7, the AAP is organising a meeting of its women volunteers to pay homage to her. The party has decided to announce the formation of its women wing on this occasion as well," said a senior party leader. The women's wing will be introduced at Sundar Nagri's Ramlila Maidan on Thursday.
