Despite claiming to be the most transparent party, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was the last political party to submit its expenditure incurred in the Delhi 2013 Assembly elections to the Election Commission, more than a year after the deadline, a report by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and National Election Watch has claimed. The AAP submitted its expenditure details as late as on April 6, 2015. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) submitted its expenditure details on December 31, 2014 more than 10 months after the due date, while the Congress was three months late submitting its expenditure details by May 13, 2014. Interestingly, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) — the BJP ally — submitted its expenditure details on February 5, well before the deadline.
The deadline to submit the expenditure details to the EC was February 24, 2014.
