AAP demands immediate arrest of former PWD Min

Published on:

The Maharashtra unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday demanded immediate arrest of former PWD Minister Chhagan Bhujbal in the wake of two FIRs filed against him by the State ACB and two Economic Case Information Reports (ECIRs) registered by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Hours after a HC Division Bench headed by Chief Justice Mohit Shah set August 20 as deadline for the State ACB to complete its investigations into the specific allegations made by it against Bhujbal by August 19 and submit its final report to the court the following day, the AAP mounted pressure on the investigating agency to arrest the former PWD Minister.

“Any other common man facing the charges mentioned in the FIRs against former Maharashtra Deputy CM Chhagan Bhujbal would have been arrested by now. What is the ACB waiting forIJ” senior AAP leader Anjali Damania, one of the petitioners in the PIl filed by her party in the Bombay High Court, asked.              PNS
