AAP, a confused party of defused netas: Gadkari

The BJP, if voted to power in the national Capital, has promised to complete the “water terminal project between Delhi and Agra” within two years. Even as its vision document is yet to be released, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Monday also promised to clean the dying River Yamuna. According to Gadkari, the Netherlands Government has agreed to come out with a technical report for the project which includes specifications regarding construction of barrages and two water-terminals at both ends of Yamuna.

Unveiling the plans for city right, Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari said that civic bodies would beautify the riverbanks while the water agencies would prevent effluents from being released in Yamuna. He also said that the Central Government has also decided to create a waterway on the river from Delhi to Agra to enable people to commute between the two cities through waters by the year 2017. Assuring a solution to the city’s traffic woes, the Union Minister said that efforts would be made to decongest the city roads, with more focus on public transportation.

The party also promised that Delhi would have more barrages ahead of Wazirabad so that Delhi does not face water crisis and if need be, talks will be held with the Haryana Government. “We have already given nod to seaplanes. We are allowing hovercrafts. We are constructing water terminals at both the ends of Yamuna on the pattern of airports,” he said.

Minister also said that that Government was working on Delhi-Jaipur and Eastern Peripheral Expressways to decongest the Ring Road. The work on Eastern Peripheral Expressway will begin in May this year, he said. The Eastern and Western Peripheral Expressways was conceived to reduce traffic in Delhi. It is strange that only 30 per cent works of Western Peripheral Expressway has been completed while Eastern Expressway is still on paper.

Slamming the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), he said the party is a “confused party of defused netas” as he asked the people of Delhi to vote for BJP saying that the city’s pace of development will increase manifold under its rule. “AAP leaders had to face defeat in Varanasi and now they have reached Delhi. AAP is a confused party of defused (sic) netas,” he said.

He claimed that BJP since coming to power at the Centre, has given top priority to Delhi’s development. “BJP, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Kiran Bedi, is the only party which can change the future (bhavishya) of Delhi and end the problems of the people,” he said here.
