AAP: NMC defying HC by not paying salary to workers

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled north Corporation of defying the order of the Delhi High Court by not paying salary of the sanitation workers for the last three months.

“The sanitation workers are now being threatened that their due will not be cleared if they do not join the protest of mayors and BJP councilors outside Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence,” said senior AAP leader and chief spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj.

The Mayors of the all three municipal corporations of North, South and East Corporation along with the BJP councillors continued their protest outside Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence for days. Bhardwaj said the BJP has become very nervous because as nobody is paying any attention to their drama this is why they are pressurising the safai karamcharis to join the protest.

“The BJP has become so desperate that now the MCD officials are pulling down the hoardings where the people have asked the question to the BJP ruled corporation regarding the Rs 2,500 crores scam.

Bhardwaj said, “The BJP has put posters and hoardings across Delhi against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal but they do not consider this as a defamatory act but when someone asks a question to them then it becomes a case of defamation.”

“I want to tell the BJP on the behalf of the party that if you think that by pulling down these hoardings regarding your scam will make people forget about this massive scam of Rs.2,500 crore then it is just an illusion. The party workers will go door to door and apprise people about this massive scam done by the BJP ruled MCD,” he added.
