Recreating the ambience of the Ramayana period resembling the Tretayuga this Diwali, the divine and holy birthplace of Lord Rama is all decked up with ‘Ramayana gates’ and tableaux as the temple town prepares itself for the organisation of the Deepotsav with grandeur.
“To take the visitors down the history lane on the festival of light, the city has been beautified with hoardings and banners from the Ramayana period,” Bharatiya Janata Party state vice-president Vijay Bahadur Pathak said.
He said as Diwali was approaching, the preparations had been intensified.
From Ayodhya highway to Nayaghat, 30 different kinds of welcome gates with different names are being prepared for Deepotsav. Some welcome gates have been named ‘Ram Setu Dwar’ and others as ‘Bharat Dwar’.
“These gates have been prepared in the name of every mythological character associated with Lord Ram, including Sita Dwar, Shabari Dwar, Ahilya Dwar, Jatayu Dwar, Hanuman Dwar, Lav-Kush Dwar. Besides, selfie points have been made near the statues of Lord Ram, Sita, Lakshman, Bharat, Shatrughan, Lord Hanuman on Ram Ki Paidi. Graphics depicting Lord Shri Ram's return to Ayodhya from Lanka by Pushpak vimana are also being made. The gates will also serve to raise awareness of the younger generation,” Pathak said.
