Nine workers died after inhaling toxic gases while cleaning a tank of an edible oil company at latur in Marathwada region of Maharashtra late on Monday night.
The tragic incident took place at M/s Kirti Agrovet limited located in the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) area between 5.30 pm and 10 pm on Monday.
The local police said that at around 5.30 pm, as many three workers descended into a 20-feet deep tank admeasuring around 1,200 sq. feet, to remove the waste and residue coming inside this tank after the process of edible oil.
