As many as seven accused in the double murder case of BJP leaders in communally sensitive Bharuch town in Gujarat have been sent to remand on Tuesday for three days.

The case is being investigated by National Investigation Agency (NIA). A special NIA court in Ahmedabad has sent the seven accused on remand. Earlier, the court had sent three other accused to remand.

On November 2 this year, former president of BJP’s Bharuch district unit and senior RSS member Shirish Bangali and general secretary of Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha for the district Pragnesh Mistry were gunned down by two bikers. In the beginning Gujarat police had given the investigation to its Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS). They could find the links of the sensational double murder case with the Mumbai and Gujarat riots occurred in 1993 and 2002 respectively. The ATS team had also established hands of history-sheeter Javed Chikana who hired contract killers to take revenge of riots.

later on, case was handed over to NIA based on the State Government’s request. Subsequently, NIA arrested seven people in this connection and sought a 10-day remand for Mohammad Altaf, Mohsin Khan and Nisar Ahmed. However, judge PB Desai granted their custody till Friday.
