Total number of Covid-19 patients in Kerala reached 87,738 by Tuesday evening, according to Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Minister. Briefing the media Vijayan said 7,871 new patients were diagnosed across the State till Tuesday evening while the last 24 hours saw 25 fatalities.
Situation has stabilised in neighbouring Tamil Nadu. The State diagnosed 5,017 new Covid-19 patients on Tuesday evening.
The total number of Covid-19 patients in the State stood at 45, 279.
The medical bulletin issued by the Tamil Nadu Government said 71 persons succumbed to the pandemic while 5,548 patients who recovered from Covid-19 were discharged from hospitals across Tamil Nadu.
Though Kerala had a high concentration of Covid-19 patients, CM Vijayan told the people that there was no need to panic.
