A 45-year-old woman was shot dead on Monday morning, allegedly by two motorcycle-borne assailants in outer Delhi’s Samaipur Badali area, with her estranged husband having been detained in connection with the murder, according to police.
Cops said the incident took place when the victim, identified as one Narayani Devi, was sweeping the space outside her home in Yadav Nagar. “Two men arrived on a bike and fired at the woman. Devi was rushed to a nearby hospital by her neighbours where she succumbed during treatment,” police said.
A case of murder has been registered in this regard, police said, adding that their probe has revealed that the victim had separated from her husband, lal Singh. She was locked in a dispute with Singh over the house in which she was living with her younger daughter.
