38 TMC MLAs in touch with BJP, says Mithun

While Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday claimed that efforts were on to topple her Government like it was done in Maharashtra, Mumbai star Mithun Chakrabarty who on Wednesday met BJP MLAs from Bengal told reporters in Kolkata that at least 38 Trinamool Congress MLAs were in touch with the saffron outfit.

Chakrabarty’s claim assumes importance in the backdrop of the ED raids, recovery of huge amount of cash and arrest of senior minister Partha Chatterjee. “There are 38 MLAs who have a good relationship with the BJP and out of them 21 are in direct touch with me … that is a big breaking news I can give you,” Chakrabarty who had campaigned for the saffron party during the last year’s Assembly elections said.

On whether these MLAs would be used to topple the TMC Government, Chakrabarty said “one fine morning in Mumbai I found that Shiv Sena and BJP  Dpen … In the Mumbai film industry we first release the music, then we release the trailer and then we release the film … whatever I told you today consider it as the release of music … more is likely to follow.”

On the ED raids he said “those who had done nothing should not be afraid and should sleep tight but those who have stolen money will not be spared … no one on this earth can … not even the Prime Minister or the President can save them.”

Chakrabarty who has been camping in Kolkata for the past several days on Wednesday had an elaborate meeting with the BJP leaders including the MLAs who were given some directions by him.
