A 30-year-old man was nabbed for seducing and raping the girls in luxury hotels after contacting them on Shaadi.com. The man identified as Manoj Gogia used fake identities before contacting the girls. A team of south district’s Saket Police Station nabbed him from Bengaluru after a girl contacted police on September 24.
Gogia was arrested from Bengaluru on October 3 and was brought to Delhi on Sunday (October 4) after being granted the transit remand from a court in Bangalore. He is now in the custody of the Delhi Police and is being interrogated.
During investigation police found that Gogia belongs to Chandigarh used to cheat the girls for the past six months through making fake identities on Shaadi.com. Many girls from Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai are being cheated by him.
Police received a complaint at Saket Police station by a 27 year old girl who works in call centre. She told police that a person named Manav contacted her a few days ago on the matrimonial website, where he told that he works with a multinational company as a senior manager. A person introducing himself as Manav’s father also called her and requested her to meet him.
