In a second back to back operation in the last 24 hours, the joint teams of security forces on Saturday gunned down three more 'unidentified' terrorists in the Amshipora area of Shopian.
Since July 1, 17 terrorists have been eliminated in different encounters.
According to a police spokesman, the operation in the area was launched in the wee hours of Saturday. The terrorists, according to police, were hiding behind a temporary structure in an orchard from where they opened fire on the security forces.
During the gunfight, all three terrorists hiding in the area were neutralised by the security forces.
Till the time of filing the report the identity of the slain ultras could not be ascertained by the police.
