In a tragic incident, an engineer, his ailing doctor-wife and their daughter committed suicide in their rented apartment at Kamothe in Navi Mumbai on Sunday morning.
Identifying the deceased as Indrajit Dutta (50), wife Dr Jasmine Patel (45) and their daughter Oshin (15), the police said that the trio was found hanging in their apartment. The deceased man and wife have left suicide notes.
In her suicide note, Dr Jasmine said that she had lost interest in life as she had not been keeping well for a very long time. She said that she was ending her life along with her daughter as she did not want to leave behind the latter. She also expressed her desire that her and her daughter’s bodies be donated to the anatomy department of the KEM Hospital .
In his suicide note, Indrajit said that after he saw the bodies of his wife and daughter, he brought the bodies down. “With they are no longer around, I also decided to commit suicide,” he said.
