Ahead of the mega celebrations planned for NDA’s one-year in office, the BJP is working on “over 250 rallies and 500 Press conferences” across the country to celebrate its victory and “achievements” in the last 365 days. As part of preparations for the D-day, the BJP on Thursday held a day-long session of 150 party spokespersons (all over the country) here at the party head office, presided by party president Amit Shah. The spokespersons were briefed about the Government’s policies and schemes by six Central Ministers, including Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Seetharaman, and Ravishankar Prasad.
According to sources, some of the spokespersons stressed on the need to have “better coordination” between media cell , the Government and party leaders and “clarity” on various issues. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to preface a series of progammes marking one-year of “success” by visiting Nagla Chandrabhan (Farah) village, the birthplace of BJP’s ideologue Deen Dayal Upadhyay, in Mathura on May 25.
All Central Ministers and BJP-ruled State Ministers along with party leaders and spokespersons would actively engage in programmes on Jan Kalyan Parv from May 26 to May 31 to highlight Modi-Government’s flagship programmes like Pradhan Mantri Jivan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana among others. Every Minister from the Centre and States have been asked to attend three meetings and spend at least two days in functions marking one-year of the BJP Government, according to sources.
Slogans like ‘Saal ek, safaltayen anek’ and ‘Naye Bharat ki Majbooti’ are some of the slogans which will be used by party workers participating in the functions. When asked about what was the most important achievement of the BJP Government in the past one year a senior party leader said, “Our credibility is intact and people do not doubt our intention”. This, he said, “is a major success” for the party and the Government.
