Prez gives scholars honour certificates
New Delhi: President Pranab Mukherjee on Monday awarded Certificates of Honour to eminent scholars of Sanskrit, Pali/Prakrit, Arabic and Persian and the Maharishi Badrayan Vyas Samman to young scholars for the year 2014 at a function at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Docs’ sale probe: HDFC, indusind under CBI lens
New Delhi: CBI will soon be calling senior executives of HDFC Bank and IndusInd Bank to join its probe in the alleged sale of confidential documents to corporate groups by Government officials. CBI sources said all the beneficiaries of the leakage of documents will be called for questioning soon.
Degree course on sports soon: Sisodia
New Delhi: Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday said the Delhi Government proposes to start a graduation degree in sports to encourage budding sportspersons in pursuing their careers without suffering in academics. He said the State Government is planning to include sports in school curriculum to ensure all round development of students.
Disburse DTC salaries immediately: Gopal Rai
New Delhi: Transport Minister Gopal Rai has taken a strict view of the reports about non-payment of salaries to the employees of the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC). In consultation with the Deputy Chief Minster Manish Sisodia, who also holds the Finance portfolio, the Transport Minister has directed disbursal of salaries immediately. Following the Minister’s directions, it has been decided that the contractual employees of the DTC will get their salaries on Wednesday (March 25) and all other employees a day later.
