New Delhi: With Prime Minister Narendra Modi keen on expanding community radio outreach, the Government on Monday promised to simplify procedures and introduce online application system for licences. The idea of community radio in most parts of the country had been a “wonderful idea”, Information & Broadcasting Minister Arun Jaitley said addressing the ‘5th National Community Radio Sammelan’.

New Delhi: NCERT Director BK Tripathi has said that there is a need to continue the dialogue and discuss the importance of language and inclusive education. In his address, at the national conference on ‘language and Inclusive Education’ last week, Tripathi said that all the languages around us are intertwined with each other and they have been influencing each other. The conference was organised to discuss and deliberate on the issues and challenges related to language and inclusion. Other speakers were IGNOU Professor Avadesh Kumar Singh, Director of Bharatiya Gyan Peeth leela Dhar Mandloi, and academicians from Central Institute of Education, University of Delhi.
pm’s brussels visit: eu ‘regrets’ non-response
New Delhi: A high-level European Parliament delegation on Monday expressed “regret” over non-response of the European Union (EU) to India’s proposal for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Brussels next month due to the Italian marines issue and said it will ask the 28-member bloc to “rapidly try” to fix the dates for India-EU Summit. Chair of the EU Delegation for relations with India Geoffrey Van Orden said a date for Modi’s visit was under discussion and it took too long on the part of the EU to confirm it following which India called off the plan.
Babus to get lesson on stress management
New Delhi: Senior babus will now be able to learn stress management techniques with the Centre deciding to hold a two-day workshop for them.
The workshop, scheduled to begin from March 28, is being organised for officers working in DoPT and the Cabinet Secretariat here.
