Army cautions Facebook against fake messages
New Delhi: Faced with an onslaught of unsavoury messages on social media, some purportedly written by retired and serving personnel, the Army on Thursday turned to Facebook to caution them against accepting or forwarding messages without verifying facts. The Army also asked both serving personnel and veterans who are users of social media to be more responsible while forwarding mails which may affect the image of the force.
SECC to be completed within four months
New Delhi: The socio-economic and caste census (SECC) being undertaken by the Government to identify Below Poverty line people in the country is expected to be completed in four months. “As on November 30, 2014, draft list has been published in 412 districts and final lists have been published in 91 districts. Taking into consideration the progress made so far by the States/Union Territories, it is expected that the census operation would take at least 3-4 months,” Rural Development Minister Birender Singh informed the lok Sabha in a written reply. SECC was launched in June, 2011, and an amount of Rs 3,543 crore has so far been released towards it.
Public premises bill introduced in lS
New Delhi: In order to evict unauthorised occupants from public premises, Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday introduced a Bill in the lok Sabha to deal with the problem effectively. The Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Amendment Bill, 2014 redefines public premises to include companies in which at least 51 per cent of the paid-up share capital is held by the Central and State Governments, and which carries on the business of metro railway.

New Delhi: IAF chief Arup Raha on Thursday said the Court of Inquiry (CoI) into the October crash of a Sukhoi-30 combat aircraft that led to the grounding of the entire fleet for a month, will be completed in a fortnight, days after the Russian envoy indicated human error behind the incident. Refusing to comment on Russian Ambassador Alexander Kadakin's recent state-ment indicating human error behind the crash, Raha said he doesn’t want to pre-empt anything.
wasteland reduced in last 3 yrs: RD Min
New Delhi: There has been a reduction in wasteland in the country and 471 projects were completed under integrated wasteland development programme in the last three years. Rural Development Minister Birender Singh informed the lok Sabha on Thursday.
