French Navy chief arrives on 6-day visit
New Delhi: The French Navy chief, Admiral Bernard Rogel, on Thursday arrived here on a six-day visit during which he will tour naval facilities in Goa and Mumbai, besides seeing the Mazagon Dock which is building six Scorpene submarines with help of a French firm. The Admiral was received at the South Block lawns in the afternoon by Navy Chief Admiral R K Dhowan and accorded a ceremonial guard of honour.
Diggy attacks Modi on cow slaughter issue
New Delhi: Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh on Thursday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue of cow slaughter, latching on to his meeting with a business tycoon involved in beef production. New Delhi: Prasar Bharati Chairperson A Surya Prakash on Thursday discussed with senior officials of Doordarshan on how to make better the content and functioning of the public service broadcaster. Sources said that Prakash visited Doordarshan offices in Mandi House on Thursday and had consultations with senior officials and staff of the channels on various aspects.
