Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar expanded his coalition Cabinet on Wednesday inducting Mauvin Godinho and Vishwajit Rane as Ministers, taking the tally of BJP Ministers in the 12-member Cabinet to five. The portfolios are expected to be allotted to the two Ministers on Monday.

Goa governor Dr Mridula Sinha administered the oath of secrecy to the two, both former Congressmen, at a formal function at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday evening.

Rane, son of Congress stalwart and sitting MlA from Poriem Pratapsingh Rane, had resigned from the Congress and his legislatorship amid drama last month on the day of the floor test of the BJP-led coalition Government.Rane formally joined the BJP earlier this month, after accusing the Congress leadership both in Goa and Delhi of being disinterested in forming the Government. Rane is expected to face a by-poll soon, due to his resignation of legislatorship.

Godinho had quit the Congress shortly before the State Assembly polls were announced in January this year. He is a sitting BJP legislator from the Dabolim Assembly seat.
