The Centre on Thursday effected a major reshuffle in the higher bureaucracy involving 15 senior IAS officers, whose transfers and postings were approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet. The reshuffle witnessed appointment of new Secretaries in the Ministries of Personnel, Steel, Health, Electronics & Information Technology and Rural Development.
Bihar cadre IAS officer (1981-batch) Bhanu Pratap Sharma has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training. Sharma, who was earlier Secretary,Department of Health and Family Welfare, replaces Sanjay Kothari, who has superannuated from the post.
Aruna Sharma (1982-batch, MP cadre), presently Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Steel in place of Aruna Sundararajan who moves to Ministry of Electronics& Information Technology as its Secretary. Additional Secretary of Department of Rural Development Amarjeet Sinha (1983-batch, Bihar cadre) is now its Secretary in place of J K Mohapatra, who has superannuated.
BK Prasad (1983-batch, Tamil Nadu Cadre), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, who probed the Ishrat Jahan missing files case, was appointed Secretary, National Commission for Denotified, Nomadic & Semi-nomadic Tribes in place of H K Dash for a period of two years
The post of Member Secretary, Tariff Commission, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion manned by 1980-batch IAS officer of Jharkhand cadre Smita Chugh has been upgraded to the level of Secretary (Equivalent).
1981-batch Rajasthan cadre IAS officer Rakesh Srivastava has been appointed as Secretary, National Commission for Backward Classes. He replaces AK Mangotra.
Dr Amarjit Singh (1982-batch, Gujarat cadre) has been appointed as OSD in the Ministry of Water Resources and will take over as Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation on the superannuation of incumbent Shashi Shekhar. He is serving as Special Secretary in the Ministry.
Dinesh Singh (1982-batch, UP cadre), presently Special Secretary, Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation has been appointed as OSD in the Department of land Resources Rural Development Ministry. He will take over as Secretary, Department of land Resources after the superannuation of incumbent VS Madan.
Dr Amarendra Kumar Dubey (1982-batch, Kerala cadre) has been appointed as OSD in the Department of Youth Affairs, with immediate effect and will take charge as Secretary upon superannuation of incumbent Rajiv Gupta.
latha Krishna Rao (1982-batch, Karnataka cadre), presently in the cadre, will take over as Secretary, Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, after superannuation of Anita Agnihotri.
C K Mishra (1983-batch, Bihar cadre) Additional Secretary, Department ofHealth & Family Welfare, MinistryofHealth & FamilyWelfare is now the new Health Secretary B P Sharma.
N S Kang, (1983-batch, Punjab cadre), Additional Secretary, Department of Health& Family Welfare, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, as Secretary and Director General, National AIDS Control Organisation by upgrading the post to the level of Secretary.
