G Baskaran, a Class VIII student of Government High School, Pandalkudi in Virudhunagar district in Tamil Nadu was stabbed to death in his classroom by an unidentified assailant on Friday morning.
Virudhunagar police said the incident occurred at 8.45 am when Bhaskaran was sitting in his classroom. The 13-year-old boy was stabbed in the face and head. Though Bhaskaran was rushed to the Government hospital, he died on the way. The Virushunagar District Police informed that the motive behind the murder is not known. "An investigation is on. This is all we could tell now," said the special branch police official from Virudhunagar, 540 km away from Chennai.
