In yet another incident of child abuse, an 11-year-old boy was allegedly sodomised in a shelter home in Noida. The incident came to light when the victim, who was rescued by an NGO on Friday and shifted to Udhayn shelter home in Sector 72, Noida, ran away from there on Saturday morning after being allegedly sodomised by a supervisor.

The boy, who hails from Bihar, ran away from home and was found by an NGO at Golf Course Metro Station. He was handed over to the shelter home. The next morning when the child couldn’t be found, a shelter house office-bearer informed about the incident to child line NGO. After that the NGO volunteers made a search operation in the city and the child was spotted at tea stall in Noida.

In his narration of the incident to the NGO, the child revealed that supervisor of the shelter Shree Ram Kashyap, took him to a room in the shelter home where he sexually exploited him the whole night. An FIR has been registered against Kashyap under Section 377 of the IPC at a nearby police station on the NGO’s complaint and the accused was arrested on Sunday.

Satya Prakash of Child-line NGO said that the boy belonged to Bihar’s Khagaria district, where he lived with his father, stepmother and an elder sister. After his sister’s marriage and relocation to Rajasthan, his stepmother started mistreating him. Distressed by the behaviour, he was taken to his sister’s house. However, even there, the boy was subject to brutal treatment by his brother-in-law. Fed up with the torture, the boy fled to Delhi and then Noida.
