Eleven Naxals, five of them carrying cash reward on their heads, on Wednesday surrendered in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district, citing disappointment with the "hollow" Maoist ideology, police said.

The cadres, including three women, turned themselves in before Sukma Superintendent of Police Abhishek Meena at the district headquarters, around 400 km from here, they said.

They also surrendered two guns, the police said. Two of the surrendered ultras, Kunjam Hadma and Madvi Hidma, were carrying reward of Rs 8 lakh each on their heads, Meena said.

The duo was attached with the military wing of the Maoists and active in the south Bastar region, the SP told PTI.

Similarly, Tati Sanki, a "deputy commander" rank cadre, was carrying a reward of Rs 2 lakh on her head, the police officer said.

Two others — Dirdo Deva, a member of Dornapal lOS (local operation squad), and Kadti Hidme, chief of the Kisan Adivasi Mazdoor Sangathan (KAMS), a front organisation of Maoists - were carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh on their heads, Meena said.
