BJP national spokesman MJ Akbar termed Rahul Gandhi’s assurance of creating 100 million jobs in next five years as khayali pulao (Biryani of illusions) and termed it as one of the worst jokes on Thursday.
The eminent journalist, who had recently joined the saffron party, said that the UPA Government had created only 14.5 million jobs between 2004 to 2012.
“When in eight years they have created only 14.5 million jobs, how can they create 100 million jobs in next five years, This can only happen when you want to fool people,” said Akbar while adding that this fooling has to stop.
The AICC vice-chairman had attended public rallies in different States of the North-East including Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram and in Meghalaya and in almost all the rallies he assured that the UPA III is going to create 100 million jobs in the next five years.
“I do not need to convince anyone that the economy of India had been crushed in last ten years of UPA rule. The younger generations of the country had been denied jobs in the last ten years and statistics say that jobs grew only at 2 per cent during the last two terms of UPA,” Akbar said.
While taking a dig at AICC chairperson Sonia Gandhi over her recentmeeting with the Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid Syed Ahmed Bukhari urgingthe Muslim leaders to ensure that secular votes did not split in the
upcoming lok Sabha polls, Akbar said that the Congress is doing thepolitics of 19th century in 21st century.
“They are treating the Muslims as a commodity rather than humans. Thisis a serious issue as the Muslims are treated as commodities and inthe process they do not get development,” he said while adding thatIndian Muslims are being kept under a blanket of fear.
Akbar also drew a parallel between the ten years of UPA rule at theCentre and ten years Narendra Modi’s rule in Gujaray and said thatwhile the UPA’s ten years have been ten years of hopelessness, despairand joblessness, Modi had lifted Gujarat into its miracle days in thelast ten years and that is the reason to believe the promises of Modi.
Akbar, who also released BJP’s supplementary poll manifesto for Assamtoday in Guwahati, said that the manifesto is different than othermanifestos. “This manifesto is different as it carries the promises ofNarendra Modi. If he is becoming the Prime Minister tomorrow, it isbecause he has fulfilled the promises as Chief Minister
