Amid a “war of words” between Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray over the Sakinaka rape and murder incident, senior BJP legislator Atul Bhatkalkar on Tuesday stirred by the hornet’s nest by charging that “there are many Shati Kapoors in the Maharashtra Cabinet”.
Taking a swipe at the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in the state, Bhatkalkar said: “If the Shakti legislation (brought in by the Maharashtra government to deal with rapists), it is because there are many Shakti Kapoors in the State Cabinet. If the power hungry chief minister shields the rapist ministers in his Cabinet, how can expect justice to victim women in the state”.
