Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that construction of an international airport at Kushinagar would speed up tourism in this region which in turn would usher in development in the eastern Uttar Pradesh.

The chief minister along with Union Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri reviewed the ongoing construction of the international airport in Kushinagar. This will be the fourth international airport in Uttar Pradesh. Lucknow and Varanasi already have international airports while work is in progress at Jewar.

“Kushinagar is the gateway of Buddhist circuit and we can expect tourists from far-flung areas like Sri Lanka, Thailand, Myanmar and Cambodia to come and visit the places of Buddhism like Sarnath, Shravasti, Lumbini, Gaya

and Kushinagar. This will give an impetus to tourism,” Yogi said.
