Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff escaped a suspected assassination attempt after unidentified assailants opened fire at his car in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday evening, October 18, police said.

The incident took place around 7 pm near Pushpa Narsee Park, also known as Jamnabai Nursery, as Shroff was leaving the area in his car. According to media reports, three men arrived on a motorcycle and fired multiple rounds at the vehicle before fleeing. The Times of India reported that seven shots were fired.

Shroff escaped serious injury, although reports said he sustained minor abrasions from shattered glass. His driver was injured in the hand, while a bystander was also reported to have sustained a bullet injury. The injured were taken to Nanavati Hospital for treatment.

Mumbai Police have launched an investigation and formed multiple teams to trace the assailants. Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the area, while forensic experts have collected evidence from the scene. CCTV images of suspected shooters have emerged, and reports said the motorcycle used in the attack was later found near Andheri railway station. No arrests had been reported in the latest available updates.

Following the shooting, a purported audio message and social media post attributed to individuals claiming links with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the attack. The message alleged that Shroff had ignored warnings and issued threats against others in the film industry, particularly those associated with actor Salman Khan.

However, Mumbai Police have not confirmed the gang’s involvement, and the motive behind the shooting remains under investigation.

The incident has raised fresh concerns about the safety of prominent film personalities in Mumbai, following previous shooting incidents involving people associated with the film industry.
