‘Spirit’, starring Prabhas and Triptii Dimri, is set to release worldwide on October 29, 2027, coinciding with Diwali.
The film is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, best known for helming ‘Animal’ and ‘Kabir Singh’. It also marks Vanga’s reunion with Dimri, following their collaboration on the 2023 film ‘Animal’, which starred Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role.
Vanga announced the release date on Sunday through a post on his X account, sharing a poster featuring Prabhas. “SPIRIT in Cinemas on 29th October, Diwali 2027,” read the caption, accompanied by hashtags referencing the filmmaker, the actor and the film.
‘Spirit’ is produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Vanga’s Bhadrakali Pictures. The project marks the first collaboration between Prabhas and Dimri and the third film produced by Kumar in association with Vanga, following ‘Kabir Singh’ and ‘Animal’.
Prabhas will portray a fierce and intense police officer in the film.
Deepika Padukone was reportedly cast in the project earlier but subsequently exited for reasons that were not publicly disclosed. Dimri’s casting was announced in 2025.
Vanga is also set to direct ‘Animal Park’, the sequel to ‘Animal’. The project has been delayed as the filmmaker prioritises ‘Spirit’. Ranbir Kapoor is expected to return to reprise his role in the sequel.
‘Animal’ also featured Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor and Saurabh Sachdeva, among others.
