Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh on Saturday urged people to verify facts before drawing conclusions after Delhi Police granted permission for his October 30 concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

The police had initially denied permission on Thursday, citing specific threat-related inputs, security concerns and law-and-order commitments amid the ongoing festive season. However, following a meeting with concert organisers BookMyShow on Friday, the authorities reconsidered their decision and cleared the event.

Dosanjh, who is currently in the United States, addressed the controversy in a video posted on Instagram, inviting fans to attend the concert and criticising speculation surrounding the event.

"What a good day today! What a good vibes coming! So are you done with reels and tweets, with the newsroom debates? Now let's meet on 30th in Delhi," he said.

Urging people to establish the facts before commenting, he added that discussions and social media posts had generated considerable noise without a clear understanding of the situation.

In a statement on Friday, BookMyShow Live said Delhi Police had sought additional safety, traffic management and crowd-control measures in view of the festive season. The organisers were required to address these concerns before the concert received clearance.

The Delhi performance will mark the beginning of Dosanjh's Aura World Tour across India. Following the concert, the tour will travel to Indore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Lucknow and Chandigarh.

The 42-year-old singer last toured India in 2024 as part of his Dil-Luminati Tour, performing in several cities, including New Delhi, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Indore, Chandigarh and Guwahati. The tour concluded with a performance in Ludhiana.
