Pakistan involvement in Afghan attack exposed

The suspected Taliban attack on Wednesday at the elite American University campus in the heart of the Afghan capital, Kabul, is signaling the grand offensive started by the new leader Mawlawi Haibatullah Akhundzada. An official statement released from the office of the President Ashraf Ghani saying the attack was “organised and orchestrated from Pakistan” is directly indicating how the neighbouring country is involved in disturbing the stability of the war ravaged Afghanistan. It shows Pakistan's total command and control of the Sunni jihadi group whose leaders are given open shelter across the country, especially in Quetta and Peshwar. While speaking to the Pakistan's Army chief General Raheel Sharif, the Afghan President Ghani demanded serious measures against the terrorists. Will it make any difference to the Pakistani establishment largely controlled by the Army and its Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI)IJ Is it not Pakistan's responsibility to ensure stability in Afghanistan as the whole mess is its own creationIJ Why Pakistan is fast becoming a haven of the jihadists in the sub-continentIJ Pakistan is well aware about its clandestine strategies for promoting, both financially and politically, the numerous shades of terrorist groups in the region despite facing huge loss of man and material every day. It is believed that Pakistan is much recognised for its deeper alignment with all these terror elements and they officially back them both in India and Afghanistan.

The latest assault on the American University wherein the militants killed 16 students is considered as the first major incident on an institute of repute and particularly of American origin. This will obviously cast a pall on the growing education sector of Afghanistan which in the past had seen the large participation of women. Probably it is one of the motivations behind the attack as the Taliban is vowed to invoke the Sharia law across the country and is vehemently against women getting outside their homes. Ghani rightly says that the terrorists by conducting such violent missions against the civilian installations like schools, hospitals, universities, residential areas etc. simply want to obstruct growth and strengthening of the values that Afghans believe in. This is also seen as an attempt to bolster Akhundzada's fire power and his ability to take on the enemy occupations in the country. It is urged that the international community must initiate immediate steps to restore normalcy and help fighting the faces of global monsters in Afghanistan. The uptick in violence can be the result of the withdrawal of Western forces, which ended its combat mission in the country in 2014. Pakistan's effort to ensure peace in Afghanistan should come in entirety. Else in the name of maintaining its hold over the resource-rich Afghanistan, Pakistan's military will continue masterminding the Taliban and other militant outfits like the Haqqani Network. Afghanistan should not be allowed to be a graveyard of empires, as it used to be an empire itself.
