McDonald’s is all about healthy meal now
The recent changes introduced to the McDonald's menu is broadly motivated by the demands put forwarded by its customers around the globe. This will subtly affect more than half their menu including roughly every item a customer orders except the popular fries. Kudos to Mc Donald's for bringing these changes, but again it is learnt that menu items affected are meant only to be eaten sometimes. However, a fast food giant which wants to maintain their world-wide presence and for remaining close to the heart of its consumers, its top management has considered these vital menu overhaul. Nevertheless, it is also an attempt to play defence against its possible competitors who vociferously promote the quality and the very freshness of the food they serve around the globe. It is not only about a new food movement in McDonald’s, but also a grand decision to open the door to the public about the preparation of its food which was kept in secret for long. It may have negative impact on the food giant, as many more small time food joints might try to incorporate the Mcmenu for generating short time benefits particularly in developing countries. Surely it may not be ruled out, but it is unlikely to affect the Mc Donald’s as it has established its trademark, taste and fans since 1940.
Currently, McDonald’s will drop artificial preservatives from some breakfast food items and from the chicken nuggets, which is considered as its most popular item. By the end of this month, high fructose corn syrup will be removed from its buns and its egg muffin will no longer contain liquid margarine. It has also decided to eliminate chicken treated with antibiotics from its products, but this was decided way back in 2015. From this menu makeover it is observed that the McDonald’s have taken a hard look at its foods and consumer concerns on the preparation of major items. Irrespective of the innovation brought to the menu, the management at McDonald’s has declared that it is determined to maintain its price level like before. The bottom line is clear for all of us — fast food must be enjoyed with moderations and they should be made healthy. Now with new food items on the plate, one can be sure that the meal contains lower fat, lower calorie offerings and it is a mix of some vitamins and minerals. The company's effort to provide consumers with healthier ingredients in its popular more healthy options is a good sign for its future growth. It is a step that is taken to ensure that the food its consumers love is food they feel definitely good about. One can just hope that the traditional flavour of McDonald’s will remain intact. At the end, it appears that the call taken by the company to remove antibiotics, artificial ingredients and high fructose corn syrup comes on the growing consciousness towards health, even when devouring fast food.
