The youths can achieve anything if their energy and enthusiasm is directed properly. Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said this during a virtual interaction with the youths on the birth anniversary of Deen Dayal Upadhyay here on Friday.
Rawat said that youths have the guts and time to take risk but they need to be ideologically strong to move forward in any field. He said that there are considerably possibilities for work in different spheres in Uttarakhand. He cited the example of tourism with considerable scope for adventure tourism, water sports and other related activities.
He pointed out that the Mukhyamantri Swarozgar Yojana (MSY) had been started in the state to facilitate self-employement for the youths. Nearly all types of work have been brought under the purview of this scheme, he said. Rawat also stressed on the need for moving towards a self-reliant Uttarakhand, stating that a self-reliant state will lead to a self-reliant nation. Apart from starting growth centres, the state government is also providing upto 50 per cent subsidy on purchase of a bus under the Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali scheme. Further, the state is going to provide 10,000 motorcycles for tourism under the MSY. The government will pay the interest on these for two years, he added. The CM also informed about the various other measures taken by the state government to boost self employment in the state.
