Youth Cong workers stage protest against inflation in Haridwar

Youth Congress workers staged a protest against the alleged spiraling inflation at Ranipur Mod in Haridwar on Monday. The party workers alleged that the Centre has miserably failed to curb inflation, resulting in the soaring prices of essential commodities. Venting anger against the NDA Government at the  Centre, they said that the BJP leaders are instead engaged in cow protection, something that is triggering tension and fanning hatred between the communities.

Youth Congress president for Haridwar lok Sabha constituency, Ram Vishal Dev said, “The real burning problem is the inflation which is making  the prices of essential edible items like cereals, rice, oil and vegetables soar  to the sky. But  the Centre is indifferent to the worsening plight of the people,”  the Congress leader said.

He further said that Dalit and the minority communities are not safe under the NDA regime. “They are being targeted by the cow vigilantes.  The Centre is playing the role  of a mute spectator with the miscreants trying to spawn hatred within the society. It is clear that such vigilantes are  being propped up by the RSS and BJP leaders,” he added.

Congress workers raised slogans like ‘Modi tere raj me, loot gaye hum beech bazaar me’.

“PM Modi had vowed during the election campaign to curb the inflation within 100 days with a heavy hand. But his  failure on this count is  abysmal. Congress would  stand by the people suffering  under the anti-people Modi Raj,” said Sahil Rana, a Youth Congress leader from Roorkee.
