Youth Cong anguished over police failure to find lakhera

The Youth Congress and the NSUI, Chamba, have expressed dissatisfaction over the failure of the police to ascertain the whereabouts of Sachin lakhera who has been missing from Patudi village for more than a month. They have demanded that the Chief Minister should remove the Tehri superintendent of police.

At a meeting organised here, the Youth Congress block head and recently elected member of Chamba Nagar Panchayat, Ganesh Kothari said that more than a month has passed since Sachin went missing but the police are still clueless about his whereabouts.  Due to the failure of the police to solve the case the State Government had to hand over investigation of this case to the CBCID, he said. NSUI district general secretary Saurabh Tadiyal said that the Tehri superintendent of police Mukhtar Mohsin had tried to wash his hands off his responsibility by removing the Chamba station officer.

He said that the demand for removal of the Tehri SP will be raised with the Chief Minister Harish Rawat. It will be recalled that Kataldi village resident Sachin lakhera had gone to Patudi village for a marriage function when he had gone missing from this village on November 28 last year.  The police had initially lodged a missing person case but following protest by villagers the case was lodged as a kidnapping case. The police then sent a forensic team to the village and questioned some suspects to find a clue about Sachin’s disappearance but no progress has been achieved in this case yet.
