Their yearly appraisals are done as per their MIS reports. In the past three years, Patanjali Yog Samiti has organised nearly 1.5 lakh classes across the country in villages and every month the top Yog Pracharak is highlighted on the web with his scores by yoga guru’s organisation.

In a recent move Ramdev had for the first time initiated 92 youngsters into Sanyas tradition on Ramnavmi day. All these 92 young sanyasis have been given different portfolios propagating the Swadeshi campaign launched by the Yoga guru across the country. Speaking to The Pioneer, newly initiated Swami Punya Dev who is heading the Yog Pracharak Prakalp said, “Every Yog Pracharak is given a target for the month. He visits different districts of the country and in every district, he holds five-day long yoga camp in the morning and during the day he holds sabhas (public meetings) in temples and schools addressing the main problem of the area. Awareness rallies are taken out addressing social evils and their possible solutions given.” Adding to this, he highlighted the liquor problem in the mountain state of Uttarakhand. He said, “Our Yog Pracharaks propagate Nasha Mukti Andolan and raise awareness on the harmful effects of taking liquor on the central nervous system of the body, thereby affecting every organ of human body.”
In all, nearly 700 Yog Pracharaks are working in the country, said Punya Dev. A casual walk into the Vanprasth cottages on the National Highway near Patanjali phase II takes one to Room number 212 which is the office of Punya Dev. The whole gallery is pasted with lakhs of photographs by Yog Pracharaks holding their classes in different districts and tehsils of the states of the country. “We have been employing Yog Pracharaks for the past three years. We give them salary of Rs 13000 to Rs 18000 per month depending on their work experience and performance. After every camp, the Yog Pracharak sends us the picture and we confirm from GPRS system on our computers. After verification, his data sheet is updated. It is all real time system.”
Going hi-tech, Yoga guru Ramdev has taken the traditional Yoga to new heights with management information system being implemented on Yoga teachers.
