Yadav set to address rallies to woo voters in favour of SP in U'khand, UP

To woo voters in favour of Samajwadi Party candidates in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh, Cabinet Minister Shivpal Yadav will address public rallies in Udham Singh Nagar on May 2-3, said Dr Satyanarayan Sachan, SP State president on Thursday.

Sachan said that UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is expected to address public in Haridwar and other places on May 5 but this plan is yet to be approved by the party central leadership.

To boost the morale of party workers and elicit support, the leaders of SP, Communist Party of India (CPI) and CPI (Marxist) are putting their last efforts to get approval for public meetings or rallies of their star campaigners in Uttarakhand.

CPI leader Samar Bhandari said that national leaders like Amarjeet Kaur, Sudhakar Reddy, Sameer Faizee and others will soon address public rallies in Uttarakhand.

“Several methods like door to door campaign, public meetings, distributing pamphlets and installing banners at important places are being adopted to woo the voters in Pauri

parliamentary constituency,” he added.

Bhandari said that labourers and working class persons play a significant role in the development of any region but both the national parties BJP and Congress have ignored their interest in their election manifesto. CPI has always raised the concerns of working class persons, he said, while alleging that the BJP’s basic policies are no different from those of the Congress and both are protecting corporate interests rather than facilitating the welfare of the working class.

Meanwhile, Sachan said that UP cabinet minister Shivpal Yadav will address the public at Rudrapur, Jaspur and Bazpur in Uttarakhand on Friday and Saturday. SP senior leader Kiranmay Nanda recently addressed public at various places in Uttarakhand.

“We have already sent a list of star campaigners like SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, UP CM Akhilesh Yadav and other party leaders to the party leadership which is yet to approve it. Moreover, party leaders and workers are

conducting door to door campaign, public

meeting, rallies and other activities in various constituencies to motivate the voters in favour of our candidates,” he added.
